Home Made Syrup (Stricklands)

1 1/2 cups buttermilk
2 cubes butter
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. soda
2 tbs. light caro syrup

Use a tall pan as this recipe tends to boil up. Bring to a boil for 5 minutes, and then add 2 tsp. vanilla.
